Who We Are

No Strings Attached exists as a resource for churches, predominantly within the Chillicothe area, to use for Sunday School, Youth groups, Family Services and Outreach. We perform a variety of songs and sketches and aim to challenge existing believers to grow in their faith, as well as offering a gospel message to non-believers.

We will work closely with puppet teams from other churches in the area to support activities in the Chillicothe area.

We believe that puppetry is a valuable tool for reaching people with the gospel, as it appeals to all ages, and can be both fun and challenging at the same time. The team has performed at the Ross County Fair, the Ross County Metropolitan Housing Children’s Christmas party, Chillicothe/Ross Public Library, Carver Community Center, area churches and on mission trips in Oklahoma, New York and Mexico.

Our Message

The material our puppeteers perform is what we want them to know, and know well. Each song we select and each skit we perform contains something from the Scriptures, and our goal is to know them better. We want to share with our audiences that God’s love is available to them through Jesus Christ, and that His love was offered with “no strings attached.”

We also offer shows containing positive, moral messages which feature non-religious material. These shows are appropriate for school and library presentations.

Our History

We've been at this puppet thing for about five years.

Back in 2001, our student ministry went on a mission trip to Geary, Oklahoma. We came alongside a sister church and did a Vacation Bible School program for them.

In the early planning stages, we decided to create our own week of VBS and use various mediums to help support the daily teachings. We purchased some puppets in order to do some puppet shows. We coordinated the puppet shows, skits, crafts, etc. to revolve around our theme, "Put on the WHOLE Armor of God." It was a WONDERFUL week of ministry.

When we got back, we performed a couple of our skits for the children's ministry at our church, then went to a puppet training event sponsored by Puppet Productions. That's when the puppet bug bit and we started performing all over the place.

We didn't have a name until early 2002. We were just known as the puppet team from Tabernacle Baptist Church. We didn't like the generic name, so we decided to get ourselves a creative name -- No Strings Attached seemed a clever name at the time -- now we've discovered that there are many, MANY teams who also thought themselves clever!

We committed ourselves to go out into our community from the very start -- we felt that we didn't want to just share our gifts and talents with our church family. Our goal has been to share the gift that God offers each person: Salvation through Jesus Christ. This is a GIFT that He offers us with NO STRINGS ATTACHED - hence, our name (a cute play on the fact that our puppets are also NOT marionettes).

We've seen many students come and go on our team, but we've had quite a few stick to it throughout their time in our student ministry. It seems our team usually runs right around 12-15.

If you want to know more about us, feel free to drop us an email and we'll respond!

We really love our puppets from Puppet Productions
